Brussels, 12 July 2018 – The UK Government has again recognised the vital importance of the chemical industry, alongside medicines and aerospace.
We want to see a seamless flow of goods across the channel. It is in all our interests. It is positive that UK aligns with this objective and reiterates the value of a continued relationship with ECHA.
The White paper serves as the basis for future negotiations between the UK and the EU 27.
We urge both parties to progress those negotiations as speedily and as constructively as possible, in order to deliver an outcome that minimises supply chain disruption and secures high value jobs and growth. The European chemical industry remains ready to play its part wherever appropriate
