INEOS Businesses and Sites – Support for Ukraine

Below is a summary of the main charitable actions taken to date by INEOS businesses and sites, which includes over £130,000 in committed financial donations, and is ongoing.

Each of these initiatives has aimed to provide immediate humanitarian relief for those displaced within Ukraine and in neighbouring countries, and ensure that Ukrainian refugees are made to feel welcome and valued as they resettle.

INEOS styrolution

INEOS Styrolution are supporting two organisations through a matched giving scheme: Red Cross Ukraine and UN HCR (the United Nations Refugee Agency) Ukraine. (Match capped at €20,000.)

INEOS Koln, Glabeck, Hern, Marl & Moers sites – Germany

  • The German sites have put in place a matched giving scheme for Aktion Deutschland Hilft, doubling employee donations up to €26,000. 
  • They are supporting local schools receiving refugees with financial donations, and have given €5,000 to Kolpingfamilie Köln-Worringen, used for an aid convoy to the Romanian-Ukrainian border (transporting food, hygiene and baby items). 
  • They have provided funding for clothing refugees via a local judo club, donated to ​​​Blau-Gelbes Kreuz (blue-yellow cross) for the transport of medicines, and have provided useful giveaways e.g. cotton bags, disinfectants, snack boxes, drinking bottles, etc. to the city of Dormagen for 200 Ukrainian refugees in Dormagen-Zons as welcome gifts. ​​​​​​​
  • ​​On German Diversity Day, 31 May, they offered Ukrainian dishes in their canteens as well as displaying donation boxes for Ukrainian refugees, going to Blau-Gelbes Kreuz

INEOS hygenics

  • The Hygienics business has donated 10,000 bottles of hand sanitiser to Toiletries Amnesty, who often work with refugees and have collaborated with a number of similar organisations to support Ukrainians in transit towards new lives. 
  • In Germany they have worked with Chance auf Leben eV, as well as Bild – Ein Herz für Kinder, delivering over 30,000 bottles of the product so far to the Lemberg region in the West of Ukraine. They are similarly working with Netzwerk Ziviler Krisenstab, Würzburg, and Rotary Gemeindienstes in Koln,  providing these voluntary organisations with regular truckfuls of sanitiser, which is driven safely through a relief supplies corridor at the border, and taken to hospitals and rescue facilities. In particular, many schools and kindergartens in the Lviv region have been converted into refugee camps, and very large quantities are needed there.
  • ​​​​​​​Beyond these donations, the Hygienics team have  so far also made one-off product donations to 9 other charitable organisations helping Ukraine*. 

INEOS automotives

The Grenadier team have backed their partner, The Halo Trust, who is and will continue to work clearing unexploded mines from Ukraine following military retreat. They have donated £25,000 towards their work. 

INOVYN

Inovyn has also joined the Grenadier team in donating £25,000 to The Halo Trust

OGS Nice

The company’s French football team OGC Nice has been collecting and coordinating donations from fans for Ukrainian refugees over the past months. 

These activities have been communicated to employees through  intranets and noticeboards, and ongoing support is being encouraged- though the company has not yet publicly shared information about its actions.
