REPowerEU

As an energy intensive sector relying on energy supplies from outside of the EU, including Russia, we are closely monitoring the current situation.

There is no quick fix to replace the Russian gas in the short-term perspective and this is why we support the REPowerEU’s action plan to drastically accelerate production and access to renewable energy sources.  In particular, we see simplified and shortened permitting for renewable infrastructure as a crucial step to increase the use of renewable energy in our sector.

As one of the EU industrial champions in the use of clean hydrogen, we also support all measures to build a European market for hydrogen and develop an integrated gas and hydrogen infrastructure.

We also consider appropriate the State Aid Temporary Crisis Framework to support companies affected by the current crisis, and we invite Member States to implement all necessary actions to support the EU economy.
