
Brussels, 17 June 2019. – Silvio Ghyoot joins Cefic as new ExecutiveDirector of Petrochemicals Europe, an industry sector ofCefic. Meanwhile, Rob Ingram, CEO, INEOS Olefins & Polymers Europe Northhas been appointed as new Chairman of the Petrochemicals Europe Board,succeeding Pieter Platteeuw from The Dow Chemical Company.
Silvio Ghyoot,a Belgian national, has extensive experience in the oil and petrochemicalindustry, with expertise in catalysts and polymer additives. He has a proventrack record as a strategic leader. Heworked for over 20 years for Albermarle Corporation, a global specialtychemicals company, holding high-level positions including President of theCatalysts Business Unit and regional Vice-President EurAsia and Asia Pacific.He has a Master in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ghent and an MBAfrom the Catholic University of Leuven.

Throughout his twenty-year career within INEOS, Rob Ingram, a British national, has held several high-level positions including Business Director INEOS Oxide, Procurement Director INEOS Olefins & Polymers, and Chief Operating Officer INEOS Styrenics. He is currently CEO of INEOS Olefins & Polymers Europe North. Before joining INEOS, he worked for both Lyondell and Exxon Chemical in various petrochemical sales roles. He has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham. As Chairman of the Board, he will be responsible for setting priorities and overseeing their implementation.
