Cefic members have elected the association’s Board for the 2026–2028 mandate, bringing together senior leaders from the chemical industry, representing different regions and segments. The Board will continue to be led by Dr Markus Kamieth, CEO of BASF, as President, with Conrad Keijzer, CEO of Clariant, serving as Vice-President.
The Board combines continuity and experience with new perspectives from companies, national associations and industry sectors across Cefic’s membership.
Dr Markus Kamieth commented on the new Board:
“The European chemical industry is under enormous pressure. Cefic’s Board brings together leaders from across our membership, combining deep experience with fresh perspectives to address the profound changes we’re facing. Energy prices, carbon costs and a workable reform of the ETS, are immediate priorities which will play a decisive role in Europe’s industrial future. With Cefic’s Board, we will work hard collectively to keep transformation investable, here in Europe, and ultimately, to ensure that Europe retains the industrial capacity and innovation needed for its future.”
Marco Mensink, Cefic Director General added:
“I warmly welcome the new members of Cefic’s Board and thank all those continuing their service. The breadth of experience represented around the table will be invaluable as Cefic works to turn Europe’s industrial ambitions into concrete and workable outcomes for the chemical industry.”
