Cefic becomes partner of Parliamentary intergroup ‘Sustainable, Long-Term Investments & Competitive European industry’
Brussels, 20th May 2020 – Cefic joins as partner the European Parliament’s newly formed established intergroup ‘Sustainable, Long-Term Investments & Competitive European Industry’ for the legislature 2019-2024. Providing its expertise and advice, Cefic will support the intergroup, grouping more than 100 MEPs, on the future of industry and long-term investments in Europe.
The formation of the intergroup follows its merger with notable intergroup Sustainable and Long-Term Investment and the proposed intergroup on European industry. Long supported by Cefic, the intergroup represents the deep interdependent link between achieving the European Green Deal and strengthening European industry competitiveness.
The intergroup will be steered by a Bureau co-chaired by MEPs Maria Carvalho (EPP/ PO), Simona Bonafe (S&D/IT) and Dominique Riquet (Renew Europe/FR) representing of the main political groups of the European Parliament. Providing non official advise, the aim of this intergroup is to offer a platform for exchange with political, industry and societal stakeholders to promote dialogue on the future of industry and long-term investments in Europe.
