The 2025 self-assessment in the Responsible Care® Webtool is open for submission until 31 March 2026
Responsible Care® is the chemical industry’s global voluntary initiative to improve health, safety, environmental, and security performance. It encourages companies to adopt best practices, enhance sustainability, and build trust with stakeholders. In Europe, Cefic leads the initiative, and has developed the Responsible Care® self-assessment webtool, a multiple-choice questionnaire available in 17 languages. It helps companies:
- Benchmark performance against industry peers
- Cross-reference results with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other international standards
- Receive tailored tips and good practices for continuous improvement
What’s new in the 2025 assessment
The 2025 self-assessment includes important updates to help companies integrate European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and support CSRD reporting:
- 39 revised questions now link directly to ESRS requirements
- ESRS icons mark related questions, with hover-over labels showing the topic
- New ESRS section in the General Outcome menu lets you view all ESRS-linked questions and track your alignment percentage
- Updated user manuals explain all new features and improvements
