As Dr. Ilham Kadri, CEO of Syensqo concludes her tenure as Cefic President and Chair of the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA), Cefic recognises her exceptional achievements. Her presidency marks one of the most impactful periods in recent industrial policy history, reshaping how competitiveness and industry needs are understood across Europe.

The Cefic Board has appointed Dr. Markus Kamieth as member of the Board and President of Cefic in his capacity of CEO of BASF, effective 1 January 2026. From the same date, Dr. Markus Kamieth will also Chair the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA). Cefic congratulates Dr. Markus Kamieth as he takes on the presidency and leads the industry into its next chapter.

Building on her achievements, Cefic has asked Dr. Ilham Kadri to continue supporting Cefic by organising and moderating the next Antwerp Industry Summit, expected in February 2026.
