Brussels, 14 November 2024 – Today, Cefic (European Chemical Industry Council) proudly announces the re-election of Dr. Ilham Kadri, CEO of Syensqo, as President for a new two-year term, effective immediately. Dr. Kadri will continue to lead Cefic’s mission of fostering a sustainable and competitive chemical industry in Europe and beyond.

Dr. Kadri brought this message to the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, where a delegation of CEOs from large as well as small and medium-sized European chemical companies discussed solutions to boost the competitiveness of the European chemical industry.

Her leadership has been instrumental in Cefic’s ongoing work to secure a sustainable pathway for the industry amid complex challenges and shifting global dynamics. Her dedication to the Antwerp Declaration has mobilised both industry leaders and policymakers around the urgent need to raise competitiveness as priority in Europe. Dr. Kadri’s role will take an international dimension as from 1 January, she will also take on the role of President of the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA), during Cefic’s two-year mandate.
