In memory of Giorgio Squinzi

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Giorgio Squinzi, CEO of chemical manufacturing company Mapei and former President of Cefic.

A chemist by training, Giorgio Squinzi saw the chemical industry as a driving force behind the European economy and dedicated his whole life to expanding his company Mapei worldwide.

He had served as Cefic Board Member since 2002 and was Cefic President between 2010 and 2012. He was also President of Federchimica, the Italian Federation of the Chemical Industry between 1997 and 2003 and between 2005 and 2011. In 2018 he was named an Honorary Board member of Cefic.

His deep knowledge of the industry and his business acumen will be missed terribly by his colleagues. We will also continue to pursue his vision of a stronger and more integrated Europe.
