In memoriam of Jari Rosendal, President & CEO of Kemira and Cefic Board member

On behalf of the European Chemical Industry, Cefic mourns the loss of its long-time board member Jari Rosendal, who passed away on Monday 31 July 2023 after a short illness.

Jari served as President and CEO of Kemira since 2014, and was appointed to the Cefic Board in the same year.

Finland loses one of its most prominent industrial leaders, who helped shape the chemical industry far beyond the borders of his country. He was a mentor to us and a key driver for a sustainable future for the chemical industry. His passion for Finland and stories on his outdoor adventures were shared with many.

Jari Rosendal was the recipient of numerous awards and honors: among many others, he has been awarded the honorary title of ‘vuorineuvos’ by the President of Finland in 2020 in public recognition of his services to society.

Most of all, he was a genuinely nice person.

We will sorely miss his experience, balanced judgment, and advice. Jari will be greatly missed by colleagues and fellow Cefic Board Members.
