Cefic welcomes the new year with a strengthened Leadership Team


As we ring in a new year, Cefic further reinforces its Industrial Policy and Product Stewardship teams. Cefic’s Industrial Policy team receives long-term leadership as Sylvie Lemoine, currently Executive Director Product Stewardship / Deputy Director General has been appointed at Cefic’s Executive Director Industrial Policy / Deputy Director General.

Commenting on her new position, Sylvie Lemoine said:

“I look forward to broadening my scope as Deputy Director General at Cefic. Chemicals policy has been my focus for many years, and a key priority for our industry particularly since the launch of the Chemicals Strategy. Now, with the ongoing economic challenges facing our industry, I would like to support the shaping of EU industrial and trade policy in turn creating the business case for investments in Europe.”

Taking the reins of the Product Stewardship team as Executive Director is Steven Van de Broeck, previously Director REACH & Chemicals Policy. Steven joined Cefic in 2015 with more than 20 years of experience in environmental and chemicals policy. Commenting on his new role, Steven said:

I’m proud to lead a unique team of seasoned product stewardship professionals supporting chemical companies achieving the highest safety standards across Europe. And I look forward to collaborating with regulators to shape Europe’s future chemicals policy.”
