Cefic Digital Dialogue: Towards Unlocking A Bioeconomy Across Europe
This Digital Dialogue will take stock of the developments made, as indicated in the recently-released EU Bioeconomy Strategy Progress Report which reveals promising and steady progress, and invites key voices from the European institutions, industry and civil society to examine:
- How to further boost the adoption of bioeconomy strategies at the national and regional level?
- What additional education and training are needed for which skills?
- What would be the conditions to scale up much-needed investments into the bio-based economy?
Bioeconomy has great potential as an enabler of the European Green Deal transformation; it encompasses all sectors, services and investments that produce, use, process, distribute or consume biological resources. And as an energy intensive industry that depends on feedstocks to produce bio-based products, our chemical industry can boost its contribution to bio-based products, moving away from fossil derived alternatives. But with bioeconomy deeply rooted in many EU Green Deal policies, what is needed to connect the dots, create coherence, and unlock its full potential?
