Policy Horizon – Closures and Investments in the EU Chemical Industry: Key Findings

The European chemical industry continues to face competitiveness pressures, resulting in site closures and constrained investment decisions across the EU. Building on Cefic’s Competitiveness 2025 Study, a new Closures and Investments study, commissioned by Cefic and prepared by Roland Berger, provides an evidence-based overview of closures and new investments between 2022 and 2025, including impacts on capacity, CAPEX, and employment.

This members-only webinar will present the study’s key findings and explain how Cefic will use the data as an ongoing tracking and advocacy tool, while clarifying its intended use by members in line with Cefic’s policy narrative.

Participants will:

  • Receive the latest data and insights on closures, investments, and employment trends at EU and national level.
  • Understand how the study supports key EU chemical industry priorities and informs members’ strategic planning and advocacy.
  • Get guidance on using the findings to support coordinated advocacy.

Join Marco Mensink, Cefic Director General, and the Roland Berger authors to align on the data, messaging, and strategic use of the study at this crucial moment for Europe’s chemical sector.
