ChemCon Europe 2025 is a global conference on chemical control regulations, bringing together experts from government, industry, organizations, and academia. It will take place from 27 to 31 October 2025 in Venice, Italy. The conference will explore sustainability and transition needs that are critical for doing business, sharing inspirational experiences to help build a more sustainable, transparent, and circular value chain. Participants will gain insights from authorities on today’s and tomorrow’s legal frameworks and expectations, and learn from industry experts presenting practical legislative and business case studies.
Cefic Contributions
Cefic speakers will participate in the following sessions on 27 October, during the SSbD Summit, hosted by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.
This Summit is a Member State initiative promoting practical Safe and Sustainable- by-Design (SSbD) implementation for a competitive Europe.

- Eric de Deckere, Cefic Sustainability Director – Moderator of the session “Roundtables: connecting SSbD stakeholders” and panelist in “Roundtables: key drivers for a practical SSbD implementation.”
ChemCon main programme
On 28 October, during the session “Sustainability strategies and initiatives (Session 1),” Eric de Deckere will serve as Chair.
The panel discussion “Pitfalls and Opportunities of a Digital Product Passport” will be moderated by Dunja Drmac.
On 30 October, Sylvie Lemoine, Cefic Deputy Director General, will chair the session “Authority Perspective on Regulatory Developments and the EU Roadmap.”
She will also present “Expectations of industry on the new EU roadmap” during the session “Stakeholder perspective on regulatory developments and the EU roadmap.”
