LyondellBasell featured in the 2022 Responsible Care Awards Gallery: “Supporting Ukraine and a sustainable EU society”
To support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, LyondellBasell donated a total of €627,500 to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the International Medical Corps:
- LyondellBasell’s global corporate citizenship programme, Advancing Good, donated as a corporate contribution €218,300, divided 50/50 amongst the two associations. These funds are being used to provide shelter, emergency relief items, cash assistance and critical-care services such as mental health and psychosocial support.
- 510 employees from 15 countries have donated a grand total of close to €136,400. With its 2:1 matching programme, the company has doubled the amount and provided an additional €272,800. Among them, 270 LyondellBasell European employees – more than half – from 9 countries contributed to these donations.
But that’s not all #TeamLYB is doing. LyondellBasell employees and their families around the world supported providing further aid to our Ukrainian neighbours. In the name of LyondellBasell sites in Europe (France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, etc.), employees locally collected necessities and donated them to the main non-profit associations (i.e., the Red Cross etc.), to support those in need in the response to the crisis resulting from the war in Ukraine. Locally, the collection was coordinated by the cities’ volunteers where the company operates, who are continuously supporting and shipping supplies to people in need. Thanks to its sites’ employees, the first round of collections was quickly achieved in less than one week (Mid-March). In total, 2.100 hygiene product kits from the Clean The World programme were supplied and delivered, as well as clothes, baby napkins, masks, first aid products (bandages, dressings, compresses) and electronic materials.
