A leading initiative by Akdeniz Chemson.
ACDIS is a Behavioral Occupational Health and Safety project that aims cultural change for all employees, done with professional consultants and highly adapted team.
When the accident data at Akdeniz Chemson is examined, it is necessary to make zero accidents awareness a part of our culture within the scope of OYAK and Akdeniz Chemson OHS Vision.
All accidents have a root cause associated with risky behavior. Sometimes it is the behavior of the employee, and sometimes it is the behavior of the manager. The focus should be on safe behavior, not accidents.
As a result of these evaluations, it was decided to define the “Behavioral Occupational Health Safety Project” (ACDIS) in February 2021 for cultural change, with a team of 21 members that has worked consistently for 24 months on the project.
Project is executed in PDCA cycle. In Planning Phase, initial situation analysis was made. Than the management commitment provided and supported with training for the managers.
In Design Phase; first system configuration activities are done as identifying observers and determining observer areas. Than field observation practices are done and ABC analysis of this observation data is completed.
In Do Phase, Reinforcement and Awareness activities are executed with the contribution of all blue collars including contracted employees. Than the communication initiatives were established globally.
In Act Phase it’s clear that the culture change has been established, Occupational Health and Safety has become a part of the daily life of employees and as a result of this this Accident Frequency Rate was reduced.
Akdeniz Chemson has already defined next steps of the project as ACDİS Phase2 and plan to implement the best practice to its other locations.
