The chemical industry, at the heart of numerous sectors and interconnected with countless stakeholders, bears a unique responsibility. Beyond mere financial growth, success must be redefined to encompass social and environmental dimensions.
Recognising that returns extend beyond financial metrics, encompassing intangible yet invaluable contributions, Bondalti’s approach is multifaceted. Whether enhancing quality of life, investing in education and citizenship, or safeguarding nature and ecosystem services, the company strives to consistently preserve and develop these critical values.
The Together Matters Strategy and Programme:
Bondalti’s Corporate Responsibility Strategy 2030 – Together Matters – aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (2030 Agenda). Approved in 2023, this strategy is now being implemented, guided by medium-term objectives and annual programmes.
The goal? To shift from philanthropy to impactful social investment.
The company actively seeks partnerships, aiming to co-create solutions and identify improvement opportunities. By participating in enduring projects that measure their impact trough pre identified KPIs, Together Matters’ purpose is to give back to society and nature to a greater extent than we enjoy with a vision to contribute to a legacy of responsibility, ensuring that the next generations receive the same values.
5 Strategic Pillars:
To achieve its purpose, the Together Matters programme has been organised around five strategic pillars:
- Education and Citizenship
- Home & Energy
- Life
- Nature
- Entrepreneurship and Decent Work

Scope of action:
Regarding the scope of action, a geographical axis was defined that prioritises projects in the regions where Bondalti has sites: Estarreja; Torrelavega and Oeiras, followed by a regional axis, covering the municipalities of the communities with Bondalti operations and, finally, a national axis, covering the countries of Portugal and Spain.
Evaluation matrix
Bondalti has developed an evaluation matrix to guide its social investment projects. This matrix considers several key criteria:
- Strategic Pillars / Axis: Does it respond to one of company’s strategic pillars?
- Impact on the Local Community: Projects are assessed based on their potential positive impact on the local community, addressing social or environmental challenges.
- Scalability: The possibility of scaling up projects to other geographies or business areas is considered. This ensures that successful initiatives can be replicated for broader impact.
- Eligibility for Funding: Bondalti evaluates whether projects are eligible for external funding mechanisms, such as EU funds. This helps maximise resources and support.
- Strategic Partnerships: The existence or possibility of involving other strategic partners is considered. Collaborative efforts create intervention clusters and enhance project effectiveness.

By applying this evaluation matrix, Bondalti aims to support and scale sustainable initiatives and systemic transformation processes, efficient resource use, and industrial modernisation through circular economy principles.
In short, Bondalti’s Together Matters programme is an ambitious initiative that aims to transform the company’s impact on society and the environment. With clear goals and well-defined strategies, the team is committed to contributing to a legacy of responsibility, ensuring that future generations receive the same values. Through strategic partnerships and sustainable projects, the company seeks to create a lasting and measurable positive impact.
