Cool transport: maximise reliability, minimise energy consumption
Our local store or supermarket supplies us with the ingredients we need to prepare our breakfast, lunch or supper. Did you ever give much thought on how the ingredients get there? Fortunately, the chemical industry and transport sector do this thinking for us.
Key for food transportation, is to avoid food loss. Therefore, the food is transported in refrigerated trucks. Refrigerated transport in the EU goes one step further and implements measures to reduce refrigerant emissions. Innovative solutions include lightweight cooling systems, hermetically sealed coolers that maximise reliability, and power management control software and systems which can reduce energy consumption by over 50%.
