Transport & logistics

Cefic, as a key partner to the European Transport Policy

Cefic supports EU initiatives which promote the development of total logistics solutions involving all modes of transport (co-modality).

Cefic calls for more investment in infrastructure. Further liberalisation of freight transport, in particular rail, is essential for efficient and competitive logistics in Europe. Development and harmonization of intelligent transport systems and telematics will improve transport efficiency, safety and security.

Cefic advocates its positions directly to the EU bodies for any issues that have a specific impact on the chemical industry. For more general transport policy issues, Cefic is co-operating with BUSINESSEUROPE (the Confederation of European Business) and the European Shippers Council (ESC) in developing and defending common industry positions.
