To promote Responsible Care in small & medium-sized enterprises Cefic has set up a toolbox (“RC tools for SMEs”). This toolbox offers a broad range of existing instruments that can help SMEs to manage issues related to Responsible Care and Corporate Social Responsibility. The tools have been developed and kindly provided by various organizations within as well as outside the chemical industry. The toolbox has been set up in the context of “prisme˛” (Promoting Responsibility in SMEs), a multi stakeholder initiative coordinated by Cefic and co-financed by the European Commission. In 2009 and 2010 prisme˛ has piloted the involvement of SMEs through workshops and further outreach activities in the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, the Slovak Republic and in Spain.
